In order to further implement The Plan of Promote Higher Educational Exchanges and Cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area which made by the Ministry of Education and People's Government of Guangdong Province, and promote the key measures and specific requirements in the field of "international exchange and cooperation" in the 14th Five-Year Plan, CityU Dongguan conducted friendly exchanges with many universities in Hong Kong to discuss the direction of future cooperation and project innovation.
On January 19th, Professor Li Shuying, Executive President of Dongguan City University, visited Hang Seng University of Hong Kong. He was warmly received by Prof. Simon S.M. Ho (President of HSUHK), Prof. Y V HUI (Vice-President), Dr. Tom FONG Wing Ho (Vice-President) and Prof Gilbert FONG Chee Fun (Dean of School of Translation and Foreign Languages). The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong is committed to building a leading encyclopaedic and refined private university, which pay high attention to international education and cooperation with mainland and foreign universities. The presidents of the two universities hope to strengthen contact and carry out substantive cooperation in these areas, such as exchange of visits between teachers and students, joint establishment of colleges, scientific research, etc. They also intend to sign a memorandum of cooperation.
On February 10th, We held an online meeting to communicate with Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU). Academic Vice President of HKMU Professor Reggie KWAN Ching-ping, the director of Mainland and International Affairs Shi Xuemei, Executive President Professor Li Shuying of CityU Dongguan, Vice Director of International Exchange Center Wei Hang and other personnel attended the meeting. The two sides reached consensus on projects of undergraduate cooperation, student exchange and master course. Invited by Professor Li Shuying, HKMU agreed to join the " Global Consortium of Metropolitan Universities " and served as one of the universities that initiated the initiative to jointly create the consortium.
Previously, the Executive President Professor Li Shuying also visited the Lingnan University, Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), Chu Hai College of Higher Education (CHC), Hong Kong College of Technology (HKCT), and two middle schools. And we held an online meeting with Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) to sincerely exchanged and discussed on the complementary advantages of resources, cooperative education, joint training courses for masters, special cooperation, campus expansion and other aspects. We hoped that the cooperation with universities in Hong Kong would be further deepened. Meanwhile, all of us could innovate together and jointly contribute to the prosperity and sustainable development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
